Welcome in Jesus’ name!

Healing Broken Relationships!

Happy Labor Day!  May this weekend be safe and happy for you and your loved ones.  We have included a special Labor Day video produced by the Skit Guys.  It is provided for you as a gift from Elim.

Today’s readings focus on the value of relationships and strategies in protecting and nourishing them.  Don’t hold on to or harbor hurt feelings.  Do what you can.  Let go of grudges. Take the initiative to bring healing and restored relationships.

Thank you to Ascension’s Praise Band for two of our music selections for this worship service.  Thanks to Pastor Bruce for his song for us as well.

NOTE ON OFFERINGS: Our volunteers will deposit your checks twice a month. They are not able to do so every week. Please know that your check will be deposited when they are able to come in, count the offering and go to the bank. Thank you for your continued tithes and offerings. Thank you for your continued prayers for our congregation, God’s people around the world, and our world!

Pray for firefighters and all those affected by fires and those impacted by Hurricane Laura and intense summer storms.  Pray for those who do not have proper food and shelter or employment.  Pray for healthy and honest discourse and dialog in our political process, and for fair elections this November.

Prayers also continue for Walt’s mother, Shirley, Mary’s daughter, Joni, Ann and Norm’s daughter Linda, Suma’s mother, Vasanthi Mulifil and Suma’s brother, Alwyn who is caring for their mother in India.

Next Sunday is God’s Work Our Hands Sunday.  Help us through card and/or note writing, join our “in place” prayer vigil.  More information will be shared at Sunday’s  worship at Elim and through email this following week.

God grant you encouragement, hope and joy through our worship together!

Song – “Great is the Lord”

The following video, In All We Do, is produced by the Skit Guys.  It is Elim’s gift to you for Labor Day.  Enjoy.  Share our worship link with your family and friends.

Romans 13:8-14

read by Pastor Bruce

8Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law. 9The commandments, “You shall not commit adultery; You shall not murder; You shall not steal; You shall not covet”; and any other commandment, are summed up in this word, “Love your neighbor as yourself.” 10Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore, love is the fulfilling of the law.

11Besides this, you know what time it is, how it is now the moment for you to wake from sleep. For salvation is nearer to us now than when we became believers; 12the night is far gone, the day is near. Let us then lay aside the works of darkness and put on the armor of light; 13let us live honorably as in the day, not in reveling and drunkenness, not in debauchery and licentiousness, not in quarreling and jealousy. 14Instead, put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires.

Matthew 18:15-20

read by Pastor Bruce

[Jesus said to the disciples:] 15“If another member of the church sins against you, go and point out the fault when the two of you are alone. If the member listens to you, you have regained that one. 16But if you are not listened to, take one or two others along with you, so that every word may be confirmed by the evidence of two or three witnesses. 17If the member refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if the offender refuses to listen even to the church, let such a one be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector. 18Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. 19Again, truly I tell you, if two of you agree on earth about anything you ask, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. 20For where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them.”

“Bind Us Together”

guitar & voice by Pastor Bruce

Bind us together Lord Bind us together with cords

That cannot be broken Bind us together Lord

Bind us together Lord Bind us together with love

There is only one God There is only one King

There is only one body That is why we can sing

Bind us together Lord Bind us together with cords

That cannot be broken Bind us together Lord

Bind us together Lord Bind us together with love

Made for the glory of God Purchased by His precious Son

Born with the right to be clean For Jesus the victory has won

Bind us together Lord Bind us together with cords

That cannot be broken Bind us together Lord

Bind us together Lord Bind us together with love

You are the family of God You are the promise divine

You are God’s chosen desire You are the glorious new wine

Bind us together Lord Bind us together with cords

That cannot be broken Bind us together Lord

Bind us together Lord Bind us together with love

You are the family of God You are the promise divine

You are God’s chosen desire You are the glorious new wine

Bind us together Lord Bind us together with cords

That cannot be broken Bind us together Lord

Bind us together Lord Bind us together with love
