Online Worship for Sunday, July 5

(5th Sunday after Pentecost)

Welcome in the precious name of Jesus!

“Come to Me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.  Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light.”

Matthew 11:28-30

Special music is provided by Ascension Lutheran Church (thank you Eric Refdal and team!) and by David Barton , a past St. Olaf classmate of David Thomas.  David’s piece is entitled, “Dona Nobis Pacem” and is performed by himself in three parts. It is really quite special.  Thank you Dave Barton, and to our Dave Thomas for passing this special music on!

Please include in your prayers this week:  Earl (automobile accident, Peggy’s brother), Shirley (knee replacement surgery), Joni (cancer, Mary’ daughter), Linda (cancer, Ann & Norm’s daughter), the family of Jennifer Muliyil (died of kidney failure, friend of Suma Anson), continued prayers for all our president, local and national leaders and all who have special needs.

Thank you for all who remember us in your prayers and offerings!  Thank you for supporting Vicar Lisa on her last official service with us this past weekend, whether you came in person or watched online!

God bless you as you join with us through our online worship.  Happy Fourth of July weekend.  Be safe and well.

God bless America.

APOSTLES’ CREED

I believe in God, the Father Almighty,  Creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell. On the third day He rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.  Amen.

The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name.  Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.  Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.  For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever and ever.  Amen.
