Elim Extra

Pastor’s Reflection

What a glorious baby shower last Sunday! It was a special moment to share healing blessings with all of you during worship, and the celebration of Baby Kinley after worship was the cherry on top. I’m blown away by your generous congregational gift, all the thoughtful presents, cute decorations and cake, your inclusion of Big Sister Lyra, and my newborn’s peaceful smiles while being held by so many strangers. Your loving hearts put the “family” in church family for me and Pegasus.

October will be a very Lutheran month, with my installation on the 7th, Reformation Sunday on the 29th, and in between, the Utah Conference discernment meeting for electing our new bishop on October 21st. In worship this month, we will be focusing on Elim’s mission statement, taking it one word at a time. Next spring would be a good time to write a new mission statement for our church, and Dave T. had a great idea of holding a writing contest for it. This month should be a good chance to start thinking about it. What is God doing in the world through Elim?

love, Pastor Chelsea
